Vital 3 of 3 · Visibility

Free SEO checker

A ten-point on-page audit of any URL — indexability, titles, headings, canonical tags, sitemap, alt text and more — scored as a Visibility score out of 100.

No API keys, no queue — this audit runs entirely on our servers and usually finishes in a couple of seconds.

Methodology

The ten SEO checks that move the needle

There are hundreds of possible SEO checks. These are the ten that most reliably change whether a page gets found — weighted by impact.

Crawlability

Indexability ×2.0

Whether a noindex tag, an X-Robots-Tag header or a robots.txt rule is keeping the page out of search results. Nothing else matters if this fails.

Canonical URL ×1.0

Whether the page declares a preferred URL, so duplicate versions do not compete with each other.

XML sitemap ×1.0

Whether a sitemap exists and is declared in robots.txt so crawlers can discover every page.

On-page content

Page title ×2.0

Present, descriptive and 30–60 characters so Google does not truncate it.

Meta description ×1.5

Present and 70–160 characters — this is the snippet that wins or loses the click.

H1 heading ×1.5

Exactly one H1 that states what the page is about, supported by H2 subheadings.

Content depth ×1.0

Enough real text to answer the visitor's question. Thin pages rarely rank.

Trust & sharing

Secure connection (HTTPS) ×1.5

HTTPS is a confirmed ranking signal, and we also look for insecure mixed content.

Social sharing preview ×1.0

Open Graph title, description and image, so shared links render a proper card.

Image alt text ×1.0

Alt attributes on meaningful images — accessibility, and a route into image search.

We also report, but do not score

Structured data (JSON-LD), your internal-versus-outbound link balance and the declared page language are shown as context. They are genuinely useful to know, but the "right" answer depends too much on the type of page for us to score them fairly — so they never affect your number.

Rankings need more than tags

Google measures speed and reliability too. Run the other two vitals to see the full picture of your site’s state.
